History:

The city of Tulcán now is located in where was the territory of Pasto, that is extended from the north of the Chota Valley and south of Past, also this area was rich in pre-Inca cultures as Tuza, Huaca, Tuncahuán, Capuli, negative of Carchi and Pasto. Tulcán is the resulted of the reduction of two Aboriginal villages by the Spanish in the XVI.
